PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Ping’s driver line is one of the respected lines in the world. Its G10 is the clear winner when it comes to covering distance. The result is an additional 15-25 yards along with great accuracy. It swings better than the other clubs and has a wonderful TCF 129 D stiff shaft. It has a very traditional look and is straighter than the Genex, but not as straight as the other squarish drivers. Its slightly longer shaft is designed to have its weight deeper and farther in the back to launch the ball farther and with less spin. Therefore, it helps decrease backspin on drives and gives more boring flight with plenty of roll.
Something special to the G10 is its larger profile. The club head is 460cc, like most other drivers these days, but the profile is deeper and allows for a greater margin for error. The club shape drives all energy produced and sent by the player to the shot; very little energy will be wasted. The club shape just looks great in general; smooth and dark black paint, square face angles give rise to a very appealing driver.
The Ping G10 gives a lively, yet low sound upon impact; a solid, yet exciting hit. Be careful, though. Ping Golf has designed this driver to launch the ball a bit higher than the loft degree would have people expect.
PROS:
The good news is you don’t have to over swing since you get very good distance on off center hits and it stays on line. The G10 is great for accuracy and distance. The Ping G10 is a technologically advanced driver with an emphasis on Moment of Inertia (MOI) and Center of Gravity (CG), two things needed for power off the tee.
CONS:
The G10 is slightly longer than the standard drivers due to the slightly longer shaft. Make sure you don’t overswing with this club or the longer shaft will punish you. While this might take some getting used to, those who master it might be able to milk the benefits.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Ping has certainly produced a fantastic driver, a super-upgraded G5 of sorts. This driver is recommended for pro and amateurs alike. After some getting used to, you’ll be able to launch far, high, and straight down the middle with the latest in the Ping G line It is definitely recommended that the customer try out the driver first; you might not be used to such high launching at the same loft degree.
